Members of the Coolup community are invited to plant trees at the Murray Regional Equestrian Centre from 9:30am – 1:45pm on Friday 24 July, to mark completion of the Centre’s Stage One works and in recognition of National Tree Day.
The President of the Coolup Progress Association, Ange Rogers, welcomed the project and extended an invitation to the Coolup community to take an active part in the celebrations.
Members of the Murray Equestrian Association and associated equestrian clubs will provide a “sausage sizzle” for participants.
Participants are asked to wear closed shoes for tree planting. The site located off Murray Street in Coolup will provide ample parking on the day.
“Tree planting activities will be coordinated in conjunction with Greening Australia and Men of Trees, along with four local primary schools; expecting to plant several thousand trees on the day,“ said Shire President Cr. Wally Barrett.
The Murray Regional Equestrian Centre’s tree planting activities are supported by Alcoa of Australia.
The tree planting activities will then be followed by the Milestone Event which will formally celebrate the completion of Stage One works from 2:00pm onwards. The celebration will include live entertainment, food and beverages.
“The event will be a great opportunity for the Coolup community to come together and celebrate the progress of the new regional facility,” said Cr. Barrett.
