Do you think that these colourful shapes painted on the road near Meadow Springs Primary School, on Oakmont Drive will slow drivers down?
The City of Mandurah's Roadwise Committee is working hard to create safer roads for the community. The committee is behind such messages as 'Don't Text and Drive, Stay Alive' and recently, actively worked to change the speed limit near Erskine Shopping Centre to 70km/hr. Roadwise Committee member Helen Truscott hopes that the shapes will act as a 'warning to drivers to slow down entering the school zone' and also as a 'speed calming' alternative to road humps.
Local police will monitor the area during peak times to evaluate how successful the initiative has been.
