Conrad and Liam owners of Duck Duck Moose situated at 3 Mandurah Terrace are having the time of their lives! Filming for the Channel 9 cooking series the Hotplate has wrapped up and now the boys are doing publicity for the show which will start on Tuesday 28th July at 7.30pm.
Liam described the incredibly early starts and early morning finishes as "challenging" but he "looks back and cherishes each and every second" of his time filming the Hotplate. "I have never enjoyed anything more" he states.
Conrad, when asked about the show described it as "a major rollercoaster ride". As perfectionists both Liam and Conrad wanted their restaurant Duck Duck Moose to be seen by viewers with the "meticulous finessse" and "attention to detail" for which the boys have become known.
So how does the show work? Local restaurant heroes from around the country will do battle over dinner in order to win a $100,000 prize and realise their food dream. Only 6 restaurants were chosen from around Australia - two of them being from WA. Judges include acclaimed Chef Scott Pickett and international restaurant critic Tom Parker Bowles as well as the contestants themselves who judge each other!
The worst performing teams in The Hotplate will face elimination. Those who survive will have the chance to transform their restaurants and take their business to the next level. The teams who’ve most impressed the critics will lead their staff in catering for a full restaurant in an epic finals round. Ultimately one of them will be crowned the best restaurant and the winner!
The Hotplate can be viewed on Channel 9 starting on Tuesday, July 28th.
