Parents are urged to plan for education costs


Schools whether they be public or private have a lot of additional costs such as text books and school excursions which need to be paid for. Do you struggle to pay for these additional costs? What are your thoughts?

AUSTRALIAN Scholarships Group (ASG) CEO John Velegrinis says education is one of life's major investments and parents need to start planning financially for it from early on.
"If a family's got three children then quite likely it could be a bigger investment than the family home," Mr Velegrinis says.
Whether it is a public, private or systemic (religious) education, there is a myriad of costs including transport, uniforms, text books and excursions which can create financial headaches if they are not planned for, he says.
