The inaugural Makin Peel Pro is being held this weekend on Saturday  25th and Sunday 26th of July. The location of the competition will most likely be at Avalon Beach. Although there is a possibility of that location changing to either Melros, Egg Farms or Gearies. Everything Mandurah will post an update on the location of the competition on Saturday.

The Mandurah Board Riders Club is one of the strongest Board Riders Club in the State and event organisers Brad Higgins and Brian Williams, Club President of the Board Riders are excited to bring the first major open event in the Peel Region in 15 years to Mandurah.

Some of the best surfers in the State will be competing and on the day there is going to be a selection of Fish Burgers, Steak Burgers and Toasted Sandwiches which are being sold to help raise money for the Board Riders Club, as well as Coast FM will be streaming live all weekend.

The Makin Peel Pro wouldn’t be possible without the support of Lee Makin from Makin Homes who is sponsoring the event alongside Star Surf and Skate. Lee Makin is also competing in the event and will be one of the favorites to takeout the over 35 division.

According to Brad Higgins "the Winter months are usually the best for reef breaks in Mandurah and the swell window is looking strong for the weekend.” The competition has been organised to fall during this peak time.

If you would like to see some of the best board-riders in the business - Jerome Forrest, Paul “Antman” Paterson and Duke Nagtzaam compete head to the Makin Peel Pro. There is a possible shower expected on Saturday but Sunday will be fine. A good reason to head the Makin Peel Pro and support the competition!
