MARC Aquatic facility opening date to be announced and Stage 2 to start in January 2016

The City of Mandurah has announced that the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC), Aquatic facility opening date will be announced in 4-6 weeks. Stage 2 of the redevelopment is expected to start in January 2016. The prefered contractor for Stage 2 is Perkins Builders. The cost of the next installment of the redevelopment will be 15 million.

According to the Have Your Say, City of Mandurah website:

The City has selected Perkins Builders as its preferred contractor for the $15 million Stage Two works which will include;

  • New multi-purpose sports court (x 2) including entry, foyer, administration, office, kiosk and first aid facilities;

  • New / renovated gymnasium and group fitness facilities;

  • New / renovated main entry, foyer, reception, cafe, retail and meeting facilities;

  • New / renovated administration facilities for staff;

  • New / renovated crèche facilities;

  • New / renovated toilet and changeroom facilities;

  • Renovated existing squash court (x 3) facilities; and

  • New / renovated building facades.

Construction is expected to start on site January 2016.
