$15,000 worth of goods siezed by police in Waroona

Operation Assurance was launched nine days ago and as a result of police officers working closely with an Armadale second hand dealer, stolen property has been discovered and seized yesterday, valued at about $15,000.

On the information received, Waroona Police officer executed a search warrant at a residence in Waroona on Friday 3 July 2015, which resulted in more stolen property being recovered.

Police will allege the man committed a burglary at a Waroona residence on Saturday 6 June 2015 and stole about $20,000 worth of property including electronic equipment and a significant amount of jewellery items, some considered heirlooms.

It will be further alleged the man arranged for some of the jewellery items to be exchanged for about $1,800 in cash at the Armadale second hand dealership.

The 22 year old man was bailed to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday 24 July 2015. He faces offences of Aggravated Burglary, Stealing and three counts of Fraud.

A 22 year old woman will be summonsed for one count of Fraud at a later date.
