Mandurah and Peel residents are invited to help shape the New Museum for WA at the next Creative Bites event on September 3 at 6pm.
The New Museum is being developed in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. It will share the stories of our State’s people and places, acting as a gateway to explore all of Western Australia. The New Museum will open in the Perth Centre in 2020. It will reflect the extraordinary history, distinctiveness, creativity and diversity of our State and region.
Audience Advocate Nigel Bond and Exhibition Team Leader Ian Thilthorpe of the New Museum will talk about their work on one of the most significant museum redevelopments underway in the world today.
Nigel will share how the New Museum is engaging with communities from around the State and Ian will talk about the themes and how the team is developing the content and visitor experiences.
In a relaxed and informal setting, Creative Bites participants will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, join the conversation and learn more about the new museum.
The session will offer a great chance for people to learn about how Mandurah’s rich history and local stories will be captured and represented in the new museum.
The event will be held at CASM on Thursday, 3 September at 6pm.
Creative Bites is a community focused program at CASM which is held on the first Thursday of every month. It’s designed for people interested in art, heritage and culture to come together and talk about their work, share stories and ideas in an informal but informative way.
The program is a key objective in the City’s Arts, Heritage and Culture Strategy to encourage communities by developing and nurturing talent, innovation and creativity. For more information call 9550 3842 or www.artspacesmandurah.com.au or email@example.com
