Staff and participants at the City of Mandurah’s Billy Dower Youth Centre are enjoying comfortable new furniture thanks to the generosity of a local bingo group.

Peel Community Bingo WA recently donated $3000 to the Centre, which has gone towards new furniture in the staff room and activity centre, which is regularly used by the Centre’s participants.

A morning tea was held this week to officially thank the group, which has donated close to $30,000 to the Centre over the past six years.

Previous donations have gone towards new computers at the Centre.

Peel Community Bingo WA donates more than $50,000 back into the local community every year, with other recipients including the Mandurah SES, Mandurah Water Rescue, Mandurah Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Salvation Army and the Peel Soup Kitchen.

The group’s committee is currently looking for bigger premises to cater for increasing demand on bingo nights.
