Do you know someone who makes an outstanding contribution to Mandurah’s sports scene?

The search is on for local sporting successes – sportspeople, clubs or those behind the scenes – ahead of the inaugural City of Mandurah Sports Awards in November.

The Awards aim to honour local individuals, clubs and teams who have a strong connection with Mandurah and that have achieved sporting success or have made a significant contribution to sport and recreation in Mandurah.

The six awards categories are:

  • Senior Sportsperson of the Year
  • Junior Sportsperson of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability
  • Club Volunteer of the Year
  • Mandurah Team of the Year
  • Mandurah Club of the Year

The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, and will be announced at a special awards ceremony on November 18 at the Rushton Park Sports Facility.

Mayor Marina Vergone said the City of Mandurah Sports Awards were a great opportunity to recognise and honour sports enthusiasts in the community.

“There are hundreds of people in our community who are passionate about local sports, and this is a great chance to highlight their dedication and thank them for their valuable contribution,” she said.

“Whether it’s a local player, a volunteer, coach or sporting club member, we’d like to see a large range of nominees represented across all sports in the inaugural awards.”

To nominate an individual, club or team, contact the City’s Recreation Services team on 9550 3601 by September 30 or go to www.mandurah.wa.gov.au/RecreationServices.htm
